IBWA Actively Supports National Drinking Water Week

Reaffirming the need for safe and pure drinking water in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle, the International Bottled Water Association (IBWA) enumerated the importance of bottled water in today’s society. Availability of pure water becomes an issue, especially during natural calamities such as floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, etc. Purified bottled water can curb water-borne diseases and even save lives in such situations.

The need for safe and abundant freshwater sources for the bottled water industry was also pondered by the IBWA. “Most people who drink bottled water also drink tap water, and the bottled water industry recognizes the importance of having a safe reliable municipal drinking supply,” cited Chris Hogan, IBWA Vice President of Communications. “The bottled water industry supports a strong public water system, which is important for providing citizens with clean and safe drinking water. Promoting greater consumption of water from all sources, including bottled water, will support the efforts of communities striving for a healthier lifestyle.”

The IBWA further stressed the need for availability of clean and safe drinking water in public places such as college campuses and town centers. Packaged water should be available at all places where other beverages are sold. Ease of access would further improve prospects of Global Bottled Water Market. As per the latest report by Big Market Research, the Global Bottled Water Market would grow at a CAGR of 6.02% and 6.36% with respect to revenue and volume respectively over the forecast period of 2013-2018. The report extensively covers the growth opportunities that the Bottled Water market offers to its investors.
